If you had a dime for every time Tony Khan advertises a huge announcement on dynamite, would you be able to retire? If you had a dime for every time the huge announcement delivers its promise of being huge, would you have zero dimes? Nope on retiring. He hasn’t done it THAT much. As for the announcements, when you claim they will be huge, it sets the bar high. The New Japan show, for instance, is a cool thing. If he hadn’t hyped it, it would have gotten a nice buzz for AEW. Buying ROH? The same thing. He doesn’t realize that he is setting unrealistic expectations with the hype and honestly he should know better by now. Due to MJF’s connection with Bruce Prichard and WWE letting Cody Rhodes be the American Nightmare, would you say it’s a safe bet the WWE would let MJF be MJF if he jumps ship? No, not at all. First I would wait and see how Cody is used over the long run if I were him. Beyond that, he wouldn’t get to ad-lib or express his creative freedom in WWE. They like everything scripted out and honestly some of the places he goes, they don’t want gone to. I agree with you that Tony Khan needs to cool it on the blood. With TWO Texas death matches happening in the span of six months for Adam Page, should there be a moratorium on that stipulation for a while as well? I don’t think it’s excessive yet. He likes to do them IN Texas so it will probably depend on how often they go to The Lone Star State. I understand the reasoning at the time for making the Tampa Wrestlemania a 2-night event during Covid due to health regulations/social distancing/capacity concerns. Two questions: If Covid had never happened, do you think Wrestlemania would have eventually become a 2-night event anyway? I think so, yes. Vince McMahon likes the idea of owning the weekend and the shows had gotten so long, I think he would tried doing two nights at some point whether COVID had happened or not. Do you see a scenario where it would ever switch back to a one-night show? If they have trouble selling tickets to one of the nights, that could do it. But it would have to be really bad since it would be seen as taking a step back and they don’t like to do that.
