This marks a new company record for any event - even WrestleMania! The UK is gonna go off.” The PPV is taking place at Principality Stadium on Saturday, September 3.

Other Wrestling:
Matt Jackson told Sports Illustrated that a recent Young Bucks Twitter bio wasn’t a shot at Cody Rhodes: “That Twitter bio was actually dedicated to cynical wrestling fans who’ve always discredited us and shaped a narrative early on that we weren’t important to the launch of AEW. So they ran with a story that made more sense to them. We talk to Cody regularly, and hope nothing but the best for him.” The bio had said “The story of a couple of self-made SoCal kids who came from nothing & built a gigantic movement was never going to be romantic enough for you.”
Nick Jackson said The Young Bucks’ match against FTR was originally supposed to happen later this month, but they moved it up to last week to capitalize on the momentum of FTR vs. The Briscoes at Supercard of Honor: “It wasn’t supposed to happen until later this month. We wanted to ride the momentum of the FTR vs. The Briscoes match because we knew they’d have a classic, and we convinced Tony [Khan] to let us have it in Boston.”
AEW announced its updated roster rankings.
On his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross said he thought he was misrepresented a time or two in Dark Side of the Ring’s editing:
It’s mixed. I have some problems with some Dark Side editing. I thought I was misrepresented a time or two in the edit.
But I mean, I admire those guys’ entrepreneurial spirit and I think it’s a good purpose, but I think sometimes they bite into the apple of the dirt. They narrowcast a little bit too much for me, but I’m still going to watch their shows.
I’m not sure I’ll be on any more of them simply because I had such unfortunate negative afterthoughts of it, but you know, you never know. Those guys are good guys and they mean well, but I think the edit was a little bit callous and not well thought out quite frankly. So I hope they continue to do those shows, and if they do, I’ll continue to watch and we’ll see. They should get better at what they do.
DDT announced that AEW matches involving DDT and Tokyo Joshi Pro talent will now be uploaded to CyberFight’s Wrestle Universe streaming service.
On Your Story with Mike Wexler, Johnny Gargano said he doesn’t know what he wants his next move in pro wrestling to be yet:
I mean all my options are open right now, I am very open about that. I don’t know what I want to do yet. It’s one of those things where I am kind of in a time period of my life where I am figuring that out. I am figuring out what my goal is, what lasting legacy I want to leave. I do have a lot of unfulfilled things in WWE that I still want to accomplish.
So, there is WWE, there’s AEW, there’s New Japan, there’s doing a run on the indie scene. There’s a lot of things that I am kind of debating, working at right now. I don’t know when, and I don’t know where I am going to return. But, I promise you when I do you all will know.
ROH Women’s World Champion Deonna Purrazzo told MuscleManMalcolm about having to miss Supercard of Honor: “We talked about it and it just…we had our IMPACT show, we had two shows. I’m under contract with IMPACT, there’s not much I can do. My hands are kind of tied. I would have loved to defend the championship. I think big things are to come. It was announced that down the road I would wrestle the winner and it was Mercedes [Martinez]. Everyone can cool the brakes a little bit. Calm down, stop with the negativity. And just realize that Mercedes and I are going to frickin’ kill it whenever we get in the ring.”
This week’s Wrestling With Freddie episode is part two of an interview with Tony Khan.
